Water Treatment Processes
Waste water is treated by a combination of processes that includes
electro-coagulation, dissolved air flotation, ozone treatment and activated
sludge. The treated waste water is discharged at a rate of up to 75,000 usg/day
to the local POTW, the South Bayside System Authority. Solids are centrifuged
and disposed of off site.
Ozone: A Superior Water Treatment Alternative
Seaport Environmental provides on-site water remediation services based on
mobile Ozone Generating Equipment. Ozone is generated by a Corona discharge on a
mobile trailer and is immediately educted into the waste water. A small amount
of hydrogen peroxide is added to the water prior to injecting the Ozone. The
peroxide assists in the decomposition of organics and is catalysed by the
decomposition products of Ozone.
Acceptance Procedure
Seaport Environmental does not charge a profile fee. In order to have waste
accepted at the facility download, complete and fax a Waste
Characterization Form which describes the source of the waste and lists possible
contaminants. Seaport Environmental will wish to review any analytical work that
has been carried out on the waste to ensure that it meets Seaports' acceptance
criteria (check your waste is non-hazardous and does not exceed the listed
values). Additional analytical work may be required at this point.
Upon acceptance Seaport will issue an approval number and require the generator
to certify the waste is non-hazardous before receiving the waste at the
facility. Seaport will provide a Non-Hazardous Water Transport Form for the
transportation of the waste to Seaport's facility.
